　　Beijing University of Technology (http://www.bjut.edu.cn/), established in 1960, is an engineering-oriented municipal key university with multidisciplinary attributes. It is among the key universities under the national “211 Project.” The university covers nine discipline categories including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy, education and art. There are 18 centers of first-level disciplines and one center of a second-level discipline which are authorized to offer doctoral degrees. Along with 18 centers for post-doctoral studies, there are 31 centers of first-level disciplines authorized to offer master degrees; 10 cultivation categories for  professional master degrees including engineering, business administration, architecture, applied statistics, international business, project management, etc.; and 62 undergraduate programs. In 2016 the university ranked 100th in the QS Asian University Rankings and 26th among the universities nationwide in China. Five disciplines are within the top 400 of the QS World University Rankings. 　　I Forum description
　　Outstanding young scholars inside and outside China are sincerely invited to Beijing University of Technology to carry out academic exchanges, focus on research frontiers, discuss the discipline hotspots, deepen friendship, promote cooperation, and assist the growth and development of young scholars. As well, they could build up a comprehensive understanding of the university development strategy, discipline construction, scientific research, talent team-building, and talent introduction policy.
　　II Discipline areas
　　Natural Science: mathematics, physics, statistics.
　　Engineering: mechanics, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, materials science and engineering, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, electronic science and technology, control science and engineering, computer science and technology, civil engineering, applied chemistry, traffic engineering, environmental science and engineering, biomedical engineering, software engineering.
　　Management: management science and engineering.
　　Economics: practical economics.

　　III Application requirements
　　(1) Generally, a doctorate obtained abroad is a requisite (applicants who have obtained a doctorate degree in China must also have at least three years' overseas work experience in scientific research)
　　Applicants who have not returned to China, as yet, but are inclined to join Beijing University of Technology are  welcome.
　　With outstanding academic achievements, including at least one of the following requirements, excellent young talents (below 35 years old) at home and abroad with great development potential are invited to apply.
　　Academic requirements:
　　① Papers published in top international journals such as Science, Nature, Cell etc.;
　　② At least three papers or more published in the top journals of the research field or division 1 journals of “Chinese Academy of Sciences JCR Journal Partition,” or six papers or more published in division 2 journals;
　　③ The sum of the impact factors of published SCI journal articles over the past five years should exceed 30 (for engineering technology subjects: more than 20); 
　　④ The sum of other direct citations in SCI journal articles over the past five years should reach 200 (100 for engineering technology subjects).
　　(2) Outstanding young talents approved by the National 1000 Youth Talents Plan, the Chang Jiang Youth Scholars Program, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Ten Thousand Talent Program, and the Young Top-notch Talent Program are welcome to apply.

　　IV Salary
　　(1) Brilliant talents
　　① Introductory objectives and requirements
　　Winners of the Young Overseas High-Level Talents Introduction Plan at the state central level, young scholars of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program by the Ministry of Education, winners of The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (“distinguished young scholars” for short) and so on.
　　Ideally, 42 is the age limit for science and engineering subjects and 45 years old is the limit for humanities & social sciences or economics and management sciences.
　　② Salary: Annual salary scale (pre-tax) 600k RMB/year.
　　(2) Excellent talents
　　① Introductory objectives and requirements
　　Candidates will have obtained outstanding work achievements with good development potential who are hopeful to become brilliant talents within three to five years.
　　Ideally, 36 is the age limit for science and engineering subjects and 40 years old is the limit for humanities & social sciences or economics and management sciences.
　　② Salary: Annual salary system (pre-tax) 300k RMB/year.

　　 Visit to the University History Museum and relevant laboratories

　　 Applicants who meet the cooperative standard will sign an agreement with Beijing University of Technology
　　 Guidance for relevant talents project applications

　　V Travelling accommodation
　　The university will provide a roundtrip travel allowance to each invited participating young scholar (conforming to the relevant national and university financial policy, no more than 12k RMB per person and reimbursed based on the actual expenses). Accommodation during the forum will be arranged by the university on behalf of the participating young scholars.

　　VI Registration method
　　Young scholars wishing to sign up for the forum should email their CV to gdrc@bjut.edu.cn prior to November 28th, 2017 with the subject line indicating “name-unit-Young Scholar Forum of Beijing University of Technology.” After review, the university will send an invitation letter to eligible talents before December 1st.
